Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry is the term used for restoring health and function to a tooth or teeth. There are many ways we can resolve dental issues so that you can look forward to healthy and functioning teeth for a lifetime.

Filings, crowns, bridges, dentures, inlays and onlays are crafted to restore your teeth that are decayed, chipped, cracked, discoloured or missing.

INLAY/ONLAY

Dental inlays and dental onlays are very similar to regular fillings and are typically made out of porcelain or composite materials, or gold. dental impressions or digital scans need to be taken in order to be made.

When to use it?

When the cavity is too large for a filling, but not so much that a crown is necessary, a dental inlay/onlay is recommended.

Key information

  • Compared to fillings, inlay/onlay restorations are more costly but offer stronger protection to your teeth and they last longer.
  • Inlay/onlay can be shaped like natural teeth, and can be made of tooth coloured materials.
